Hey Guys,

I'm after a little assistance here.. I've recently scored some 17x7.5" ET35 Alloys for a good price and fitted 235/45/17..

All looks OK, just inside the guard on the front and Not over track.. still within spec.

Only issues I have now is at time quite severe tram-lining and bump steer.. also seems to be effected by bumps and dips on the rear wheels, and not just the front.. rack and suspension seem OK and tight as it was fine with the original 15x6 steelies..

Any fix for this or will I need to get ET45 wheels to get track back to stock ?

THanks.

MR..

Its common for magnas of this age to have shagged front end components like bushes. The wider wheels will make the car tramline and follow ruts, but if its severe then it would be worth inspecting the front end.

Hi dave.. so you don't rekon its just the change in offset causing the tram-lining ? as it seemed fine prior to sticking the 17x7.5 wheels on..

It might be exacerbating the situation

gotcha..thanks..

Do you know if there's an adjustment to the chamber etc.. that helps with with overriding the effects of the wider track ?

I dont think so. There isnt much you can do short of going to a custom wheel shop and seeing if they can shave some meat off the wheel's hub facing but that can be pricey and dangerous.

What tyres are you running? Cheap tyres can also play a part in tranlining

Yeah considered that and asked a wheel place here in Adelaide.. $60 per wheel, but there's not enough material left if they need to take the 10mm off.. plenty of meat left on the wheel in general, just NOt where the nut holes are bored in..

Running KU27 Kumho's.. damn nice tyre in my opinion.. well... look like I'm goin wheel shopping..again.. hope to come across another bargain, but ones with correct offset..

Thanks for your help Dave.. :)
