Just wondering, how hard it would be to put a trip computer either from a TH or TJ1 into a TF. Contemplated a full loom swap but as the TF has ABS, I'm pretty sure its different to the TJ (Someone Correct if i'm wrong) So how hard would it be to put in a DIY loom in, also I assume it wouldn't matter if i wanted a verada one, so it has the clock to the left.

Failing that, how hard would it be to put a KF Speed Alert + Clock into it? This is obviously a last ditch effort, as I'd rather the trip computer as well

I know that the trip computer will plug into the TF loom. I've seen all the trip computers/speed alarms from TF-TJS1's and the harnesses are the same. However, the cables that go into them do differ.

The trip computers are apart of the upper dash loom which also includes the cluster. The cluster is apart of that circuit and enables some of the functions to work. So I'm fairly certain that at the very least you will need a KF Ei upper dash loom and a cluster. This is the usual process for anyone who does a blackout cluster change.

I doubt you'll be able to run a later model digital trip computer in a earlier car that has a analogue trip computer without some kind of loom swapping. You may be able to cut ito the wires that power the analogue trip computer and then retrowire this to the TH/TJ trip computer harness. It would all depend on how the analogue trip computer's circuit works. You'd also need to know which wire(s) control the trip computer in the analogue TF and in the digital TH/TJ trip computer. Do you know how to study wiring diagrams? That would important in this case. I know both Savage and Mcs_Xi are brilliant and being able to interpret those wiring diagrams.

Mate, what the hell are you on about.........

The TE/F and Verada KE/F DID NOT HAVE ANY TRIP COMP.

You will need a TH or KH set up including cluster, upper dash loom and trip computer. You will also need to modify the plug at the center lower plug where it goes into the engine loom as they are different. YOu will also then need to tap into #2 injector pulse as well as the oxy sensor power wire (is easiest to get to)

As for digital and analogue trip computer, again I have NFI what you are on about there either as the trip computer in ALL models is digital, the series 2 simply moved the display and controller into the cluster aside from that and a couple extra functions they still worked off the same principle
