Hey all

Just went down to Super cheap to pick up new brake pads but lady said there's 2 types for my make and i dont have a clue which one is the right one. How do i check that?

- 98 TF Magna, sedan, auto
- needing front pads replaced

Got given two options
- DB1203 (PBR Caliper)
- DB1223 (Alcebonol/Sumi Tomo Caliper) , i think.

Also, should I be replacing both sides? or can I only replace the one side ?

Im newbie to DIY but done some research on here.. so just pull old ones off and new ones in.. yeah? lol

thanks :woot:

The calipers and rotors in the TF were all the same dimensions and specs so not sure why there are different pad part numbers. It wasnt until the TJ that there were truly different brake components between models.

You need the DB1203 i believe.

Also you must change both right and left brake pads on both sides of the car - this is important otherwise your car will brake unevenly

Also, if you are a newbie to cars, please seek professional advice and assistance as the brakes are the only part you really dont want to get wrong. That said, it is quite straight forward to change pads as long as you torque the caliper bolt correctly

Yep definitley db1203 is correct... supercheap do have regular specials on 2 for 1 bendix ultra premiums pads... all four corners for $73

No, all Tf's were 3l.

TF models were both 2.4 litre and 3 litre
