AMC,

i removed my cd stacker in my car today, (kf verada) so i could put new carpet onto the boot side wall.

disconnected the stacker, put carpet in and reconnected the stacker.

now, from the engine bay when i put my key in the ignition to start the car, there is a loud buzz like electric current flowing from the engine bay that is quiet audible. this does last for a couple of seconds then stops.
there is no sign of the car turning over either which does have me quite worried.

the car will not start what so ever. and the engine light does stay on like it should for a few seoncds then comes off.

ive checked fuses throught the car even the ones for my stereo which still does work.

any ideas whatso ever on what could be causing this? it did drive and start perfectly fine yesterday.

Yeah looked at that
That's been a culprit when doing my sound system and changing bulbs with doors open before.

I doubt it but when I took the stacker out could something have gone wrong there?

It may have shorted something or sent a transient voltage back through, causing it to have a hissy fit.

Check it along with the starter fuse etc. in the Drivers side footwell fuse box.

Also.. Make sure your car is in Park or Neutral..?

Could it be the stacker is not plugged in properly? Becuase when the car gets power the stacker operates and checks itself. Maybe it is sending that sound through the speakers.

Check and check again to make sure what you did, you did properly.

Try starting in each of the PRND32L spots? The buzz sounds like the transmission buzz when changing the selector when the engine is off (but the key is at the on position)

the car i had infact knocked into reverse, however this was only half the problem.

i had infact also done a bit of work moving my crossovers around in the car and undone something with the some of the lines / wires under the passenger side footwell
which was a matter of undoing my errors
