Howdy guys,

As title says my ac has just stopped working.

When i flick the ac switch the blower blows air but its not cold. It has gas in the cooling system. When i listen i cant hear the 2nd fan kick in, ive checked the fuses but havent looked into relays yet.

Ive set all my dials how they should be, i also pulled off the kick panel to make sure the cable that controls warm to cool air hasnt popped off.

All suggestestions appreciated.

Do you know this or are assuming it? If not, comp won't start as a safety control. Obviously your compressor isn't kicking in. I don't know car systems that well, but yes it could be a relay that's fudged. Something's not switching when it's supposed to.

It was redone at the end of summer.

ANd was working up until a few weeks back. only know its stoped because i used the AC to demist windows and it stopped.

Lift the bonnet and see if the A/C compressor engages (spins) when you turn it on (engine running). If the clutch doesn't engage, use a multimeter (engine off, ignition on) to check the electrical clutch connection. If no power check relevant fuses.

If you have power but no clutch engagement, see an A/C bloke to test if there is enough gas in the system, if not get him to leak test the system. Doesn't take much of a leak to loose it all, or the high/low pressure switch may be defective (or just disconnected).

If you don't feel confident in doing your own troubleshooting, just get the A/C guy to go over the system. Most A/C systems are pretty trouble free these days, my 1994 TS is still on it's original gas and doing ok. (Unless I just cursed it lol)
