Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum and I'm really hopeing you can help me out.
I resently bought a 2001 Veranda V6 3.5l sedan from a dealer in Sydney with about 270k on the clock. All was great till the next day while driving the Antilock light plus the handbrake and the Tcl off warning lights all came on at the same time! Baiscly what now happens is I start it in the morning and get no warning lights till I do about 5-10km then they stay on till I leave it over night.
I've rung the dealer and he has had two of his mechanics look at it but they can't find any problem or an error code for that matter when they plug into it!!!!
On top of that when go up to higher speeds 60km+ the braking feels quite jerky and I'm getting a lot of feed back from the pedal but I don't know if this is normal as the brakes were tested to and all seem fine!
I don't know what to do here because I really like the car as does my wife but I if I can't get this solved I'll have to get rid of it for safety reasons.
If you have any thoughts or know what's causing this I really appreciate your input.

Cheers

You have 2 issues

First issue, and is a shame that Mits are not able to diagnose this, is that your main ABS Modulator seems to have failed. With this not working your ABS naturally will not work, as the TCL is tied into this area the TCL will nto work and as your braking system is not functioning correctly the handbrake light is acting as a general brake warning. This is often common for the warning to take a while to come on.

Second issue you have is brake shudder by the sounds of it, caused by warped rotors

Thanks for that Madmanga, if I was in Vic I'd bring it straight to you!
Is there any test I can do to say for certain the modulator is definitely the problem. Should it generate an error code because none are showing up.
I'll get the dealer to check and replace the rotors and hopefully it will solve the shudder issue.

Thanks for your help on this. :-)
