Hey guys, I would like to know how everyone with a GE Front Lip for their TH/TJ bars actually attached it?
Reason I ask is because I bought a TH Bar with the Lip already attached, had it all painted up and now its coming apart and the whole lot will need a respray.
I was thinking (dependent on the method the previous owner used) I might just use some industrial grade 3m tape on the top section and screws on the lower section underneath.
I was thinking of Sikaflex, but if I wreck the lip, I would like to salvage it.

To be honest you could even go without any form of glue/tape at all.
If its bolted on properly then you don't need tape. My lip is only held on with screws on the bottom. I like having the ability to easily remove it (especially if the car needs to be towed). The fit is pretty snug all round anyway.
3M double sided tape is a probably the best thing to use. It won't rip off the paint and you can clean the glue off if you do remove the GE lip.
Otherwise I would consider using a low strength waterproof glue/silcone sparingly around the top edge between the sides of the lip (near the wheels).
I don't think the front of the lip requires any glue to be honest. Parts of my G.E lip were removed off a wreck and that car had the lip completely tacked on with black silicone - I took over an hour trying to remove it (many cusswords and hatred being directed the person who used silicone/sikaflex) and I basically had to hack the bumper bar it was attached too into pieces because there's no other way that lip would've come off.

Thanks Magna P.I that's very helpful especially after seeing when my car was towed last time :s
How many screws did you end up sinking into the bottom?

Had a chat to a panel beater/spray painter, to fix the lip, re-urethane the lip to the bar id be looking at about $400, which I think is reasonable for fixing the crack and re gluing the bar. I did suggest that I was thinking about making the front lip removable but he made some good points as to why it wouldn't really be too beneficial however I might have a chat to another panel beater to ask about their experiences and pricing to make my final decision.
