hey guys wondering whats involved with putting a TH trip computer in a TE and is it even worth the time ?

Not 100% if the looms are the same, the TE is just a clock, isn't it? Might be able to heist one from a TH being wrecked. (upper dash loom - connects to the junction block, runs up the top of the dash to the cluster and trip computer)

It can be done. Anything can be done, but it will mean a craptonne of wiring and plug checking etc etc. The TE has nothing but 2 warning lights there. So short of changing most of the harnesses or modifying the upper dash harness a fair bit, stick to adding a clock.

still a pain if i have both cars complete so can salvage anything I need off the TH ? not bothered about the km to empty feature more so the speed alert

i have done a 3.5 convertion into the te already and still using the 3.0 computer so id doubt the km to empty would work right any way ?

Upper dash harness needs to be changed, there are mods to do the centre plug however the drivers side plugs in, is a dash out job however

If you want speed alert, the TF has it but as you have to take out the dash may as well use the H one.

With all the parts from a TH, you can do it sure. But again, you are going to have to be crafty with the wiring looms. Both cars are very different and if it was me, and both cars had the same gear like ABS and SRS to the same spec, I would just swap the whole looms.

If you want it to work with a TE loom, then you will need diagrams for both cars and a soldering iron and plenty of time.

No need for solering iron, is a single plug to change over and 2 wires to be patched into another loom
