When you buy the magna (2nd hand or new) is it a good idea to disconnect the battery for 30minutes to allow the ECU to "learn" the new drivers driving style?

i think only if you have the newer models which have the auto gearboxes that adapt to your driving style, otherwise no.

Drive consistently hard but SAFELY (yes it is possible) for a little while they learn real quick. I didn't disconnect the batt in mine and she picked up the lead foot attitude real quick  .
Very handy when overtaking when they kick down without having to push the accelerator thru the floor :D

I think it works it out over the last 100 gear changes.......

I remember when my dad had his TJ Sports in for its first service, he mentioned that it drove constantly in really low revs. The guy said to him something along the lines of "you have been driving this like a grandpa, give it some stick for a little bit and it will respond better".

When i drove it a little while later it had made a massive difference. Went to overtake a car on the highway and BANG it slammed itself back to 2nd :D
