Hey guys, I was pulling into work too fast the other day and i must have been going too fast because as i came in a scraped the bottom of my front kit and snaped a small part off.
I'm in Adelaide and trying to find a solution, I tried a couple body repair places but they said they can't do it cause it's injected plastic.
Heres the damage:

Any Help would be awesome! thanks!

Plastic welding would be the best option, but sounds like that is not on.
I would try fibreglass resin and mat from the back, use masking tape on the front to align it all properly. Done this myself, but just on split bar, not on such a big chunk.
Then flexible filler from the front, careful sanding, spray cans to finish it off.
Could look ok, could look crap.
Check the price of a new skin and paint first (expensive), maybe look for a second hand bar in your colour (unlikely, but you never know).

Check the forsale section mate, I have several of these here brand new raw plastic

You can not glass these as it will not stick, there are a few plastic welders about that can do this stuff but is very expensive and hard to do, also would need stll to paint it

There's many dodgy fixes for it..

You can glass a mould behind it, as Mal said it wont stick, so once you've glassed behind, tack it in the pack of the bar and bog the front.

VERY VERY DODGY!

But have seen it done on some cars (Unfortunately)

Sounds like a new skin is on the cards. Get it painted before you put it on, not after.

I have this on my car too. Split my VR-X lip on a concrete carpark stopper. Panel beater fibreglassed it from behind. It was repaired around 3 years ago and has held up fine. However, I only had one small crack - I didn't shatter my bar like the OP.

I think the best bet for the OP is just to find a new lip. Looking at the last pic, it would take a fair bit of effort to repair it.

Only have left ones, I do have a couple of used kits here but not willing to split the complete kits up, they will be advertised soon once I get them out and check them over

Just for the sake of it, i figured i'd update this. So basically after buying the part off Mitsfix for $175(awesome!) I've had plenty of quotes done and its costing me $570 to get the LHS and RHS bars painted plus im getting my bumper repaired and repainted while im at it since it has some shitty parts to it. Could not have ever imagined a silly mistake of just driving up a driveway (which wasn't even that steep) could cost me about $700! aha

I could paint the LHS and RHS for $200-$250 for the pair. Qualified spray painter. Up to you if you are happy to pay that much for a simple job.

If you lived near me I'd fix it for you for free, you'd just need to get it painted. I've got 3M 2216 two part epoxy that sticks to bloody anything. Worked awesome with satin weave glass cloth on my nylon plastic motorbike seat.

Angle ALL the driveways!

That's the best tip I can give you, as a fellow VR-X owner...

I have a TE with a Ground Effects lip on it, the Lip had a massive crack underneath that went through to the front, the lip also started pulling off the bar, Christies Beach Crash Repairs fixed mine all up for $450, I thought that was a good price for removal and fitting of the front bar, primer, paint, urethane and labor. This was only done about 1 week ago aswell so pricing could be similar.

Going to give this a bump.

Had an incident last night that resulted in my G.E lip being cracked up and my bumper pushed up and twisted a bit as well.

Any think this is not repairable? Is it possible to DIY with a bit of plastic and a soldering iron? Or even using pro plastic welding tools?
I've had this lip fixed in the past (two pieces put together in the middle) but the new found damage underneath the lip as well as well a crack of two on the sides have me wondering.
