Hey guys. I've noticed my TH has started grinding from the front left when changing from N to D with a bit of throttle (eg when it's idling when cold) it doesn't appear to happen with the brakes on to the point where putting the car in gear will move the car itself, so it appears it's localised to between the gear box and the wheel itself. Is there some basic troubleshooting I can carry out? Cheers.

Little more info please, if you have your foot hard on the brake will this happen or just lightly, if only lightly is more than likely a pad groan usually caused by glazed rotors and nothing to worry about
Unfortunately these noises are really hard to diagnose without actually being there to hear AND see the condition that occurs when the noise actually happens

It's more of a grind, sort of like coins suddenly moving in the ashtray.
I think I have glazed rotors too which is also there but is different.

As in Mal's post:
What does it do when -
(a) Foot hard on brake pedal.
(b) Foot right off brake pedal.
(c) Foot lightly on brake pedal.
