Hi all first post :) Just bought me a TJ L.E for $3k in great nick with 205k on the clock and loving it. Because its the limited edition does it mean I've got the Advance with extra Verada spec? Its got full leather interior, Tiptronic, 16" alloys and spoiler on the back. However its also got a sports exhaust. A mechanic friend of mine says it must've come with the Sports Pack too which includes slightly more power and a beefed up suspension. Is he right or is that just how the L.E. comes?

I believe that's how the L.E's came.

I got a set of shocks and springs from one at a wreckers and i swear they had better handling then my standard TJ ones

To my knowledge, the L.E's just came with leather seats and the bigger alloys. The L.E. model is listed here on redbook - http://redbook.com.au/cars/research/used/details?R=86504&Silo=Spec&Vertical=Car&Ridx=9&eapi=2 - no mention of sports suspension.

The sports muffler could've been easily added on later. It's pretty easy to get one off a wreck or the owner may have ever ordered it from Mitsubishi. Is a genuine mitsubishi one or some aftermarket exhaust?

I highly doubt mitsubishi would've fitted upgraded springs, a swaybar and a sports exhaust to an Exec/Advance. That would seriously undermine the sports version effectively caniballising profits from higher spec models. There was never really a 'sports pack' as such from mitusbishi either. It was a model but not a optional extra for an Advance/Exec.

I would say that with 205k on the clock, the struts and shocks would have been replaced by now. Mine are crap now on 170k.

Yeah i think youre right there, probably is an add on. Havent got underneath to check to if its Mitsubishi or not. Gives a great burbling sound on the down-rev but my mechanic seems to think its cause the rear plugs havent been changed since its last 100k service lol Will be getting it serviced real soon but i dont wanna lose that great sound :( Getting new Timing Belt kit and Auto flush too.

Nice pickup :) Was that the one for sale at a yard in Highgate Hill?

Nice cheap pickup mate that motor will have plenty of life left in it. It probably had a vrx muffler put on it as that is pretty common swap. For 3k what a bargain hey...

Yeah thats it! CBD cars? Haggled him from $3.5k to $3k. Couldnt believe how cheap it was. Was thinking there might be something seriously wrong with it but runs and looks great! Did you have a good look at it?

Thats the one.. He did have it down to $2350 no rego no RWC at one stage because of some kind of fault with the transmission (if memory serves me, don't quote me on that), but I'm guessing he must have fixed it. I never saw it in person, but I've seen it advertised on Gumtree over the past month or two, looked in top condition in the photos, you should be happy with it :) I would have bought it myself if it was for sale at the time I bought mine :D
