Hey all,
I have a 1998 3 litre TF Magna Auto that makes a rattling sound when i accelerate. The noise is not there when its idling or when in neutral, but as soon as it goes in drive and i accelerate there it goes....

Any ideas as to what it may be are welcome.

It would help to diagnose the noise if we had some reference. Can you get a vid of the car when the noise os there? Does the noise vary with engine speed or with road speed? Is it only when turning a corner, braking, accelerating etc?

Does it disappear or get quieter when the engine warms up?

Either the tappets, or the engine is pinging/knocking. The engine can ping/knock if you have bad fuel, or if one of the sensors (most likely the oxygen) is giving the wrong reading making the engine run too lean.
