Hi guys,

There seems to be a few threads regarding TJ's and the different build dates etc, but I still couldn't get a definitive answer to my question - when did they change from 150 - 155kw?

Mine is a May '02 build date and has digital odometer but straight 4 speed auto (non tippy), would that be the 150 or 155kw version? Is there any way to check using the engine number?

Thanks

According to goauto.com.au Used Car Research, power in the MY02 TJ (introduced in September 01) increased to 155kW. Side-impact protection was improved at the same time.

Thanks for that, sounds plausible to me.

Side impact airbags were introduced in the TL, I dont think any change was made to structural support in the MY02? Could be wrong.. who knows.

TJ/KJ AWD's have additional impact protection beams in the doors ('03 models).
