Hey guys
Currently noticed that my car is starting to slip while in gear if I put the pedal half way to full way down
It happens mostly in 4th or 5th gear but sometimes 3rd
If I put my foot down some while travelling along in 5th the revs will jump up by about 800rpm then settle back down after a second and contiune like normal
I also noticed while changing the gearbox oil on the weekend that just under the passenger side drive shaft where it goes into the gearbox that there was a clunk of grease sitting on a part of the gearbox
Check the shaft and couldnt see a crack or anything, but a small linewith the same coloured grease
Could this be whats causing the car to slip while in gear?
Thanks

I think you need a new clutch? That is usually the sign of a worn clutch.

worn clutch or your clutch pedal may need adjusting to have some freeplay.

I had this too, started getting worse over time. Meant I needed a new clutch (don't leave it too long or you can crack your flywheel).

new clutch plate and pressure plate and throw out bearing. about 800 dollars labor plus 300-600 in parts. if there is an engine or gearbox mount broken, add 100.
$800 for a clutch is your going HD and whatnot maybe... I got my Exedy Evo 9 HD for $480... the std Magna clutch was cheaper.
Clutch test: drive in 4th gear with foot down... with foor still down quickly push the clutch in and release it, if it slips, clutch if fubar.

could be rear main leaking onto the clutch as well

Hmm will have to invetergate further into this on the weekend
Hoping its not the clutch as the car still shifts perfectly fine, nothing unusual at all
But may need to check the free play adjustment
Will also check for leaks aswell but couldnt see any oils leaks or such, just a pile of light brown clumpy grease

Hoping its not the clutch . . . . . .
. . . . . check the free play adjustment
It's going to be one of these two things, can't be anything else.
Magna clutches last for a long time. How many km on the car?
Definatly clutch. When mine did This adjustment did nothing

Exactly what my TJ clutch did right after the manual conversion - may not be ****ed though, mine just needed adjusting. Ran perfect after tightening.
If you are getting brown goopoozing from the bell housing, it could be engine oil from the rear main seal mixing with clutch dust. only one way to tell - strip it out and see, replacing everything whilst you are there.
