hi my quest at the moment is to get twin webers on my magna i rang a place and they will make me a manifold but ill have to cut abit into the firewall for clearance for the webers what are your thoughts.:facejump:

Stay with the factory fuel injection with an after market ECU would be your best bet.
Cheers Dave

How much more clearance do you need? Cutting holes into the firewall is a big no-no.
They can be angled up a bit, or you can look at making the manifold as short as possible.
Good luck on the install and tune.

why is it a big no no? do sidedroughts have to be pointed a certain direction to work

Big no-no to modify a car in this way, as it weakens the car in case of an accident.
I believe Weber carbs can be tilted 15 degrees up or down, but you need to confirm this. Affects float chamber levels if you go beyond a certain angle.

ok. Can you think of any other way I can get them webers on there ie manifolds

start with an gen1 efi manifold remove the plenum
make an adapter plate to fit the carby,s.
you may have to mod the back off the bonnet.
i have no idea if it will work . looking at an gen1 efi manifold it should give you the room you need

thanks mate ill look into that

too be honest efi it quicker cheaper .
wreckers list efi manifold wiring loom dizzy coil . fuel pump ,fuel filter and an efi exhaust manifold ecu and tcu

you said you may have to modify the back of the bonnet, explain?

by the time you put adapter plate carbys and air filter on top of the inlet it may be to high .
mod the bonnet raise the back or cut it and add a scoupe

I know. But I'd prefer to take this road to try something abit different the sigma boys can do it so I want to
magnaman89

the sigma boys are using gen1 efi manifolds for ejection
the gen2 manifolds are higher and wider then the gen 1 .

ill raid the wrekers tomorrow and get a manifold do you think it would be pretty beast

if the intake manifold on both 1&2nd gens are interchangeable wouldn't the 2nd gen one flow more or are you saying go for the 1st gen because its smaller for clearance
magnaman89

should look good im to old for that s..t now lol
look at the tn,m,p magna,s gen1 for a manifold. there a pain to get off with the motor in there,s a 19mm bolt under the manifold most bolts are 12mm
magnacarby
16-08-2012, 10:39 PM
why not the ts efi manifold?

yep it sit lower and closer to the head

do you know if the ports are smaller then the ts ones?

i have both here ill look in the morning. i believe the tr are bigger . but you have a space problem lol
you should also look for a m9 head as they are the last made . people say they are the best

Unless you are an expert at tuning DCOE webers and have a supply of jets, etc. it will all end up in tears. And it is all "old school" stuff.
Fuel injection works so much better. Why not go for the standard TS EFI system? You will need a donor car for the EFI bits, ECU, looms etc. (Or go out and buy a TS EFI - $500 should get you one.)

I get what you are saying I'm expecting there to be things ill need to iron out if it doesn't work I can always just put it back to stock easy

I drive around in a nice clean tf 3.0ltr executive to get to work and the ts only comes out of the garage on the weekends Haha

I havernt looked at my ts manifold properly but do you think if I shorten that it would work?

yeah twins will wk lots of fiddling and tuning costs less power unless engine mods are carried out just put a escort weber on it if you want more power and tuneability or holley with modified manifold or adaptor plates been down the twin road b4 with not much fun
magnacarby

td195 cool how did you go about getting a minifold for the twins? im still scratching my head and thinking its it really worth it, but i seriously want to do it

have checked the sigma club .as a magna inlet fits a sigma maybe you pick up a sigma twin carby set up .

good work man i just picked up a set of headers for $55 bargain. been looking at manifolds all day if thats the case theres a manifold on ebay which are for a sigma should they fit

your right with the 2nd gen efi manifold i think that would be my bet to modify that with the weber flanges

what inlet manifold fits which sigma head

hey magnaman ive got a gen one efi intake manifold and i bought some weber flanges im thinking cut the runners about half way or enough to make room and weld the flanges on
