Hi all, Thanks for your help re exhaust.
I failed my rwc due to front wheel bearing play. Going to Pick a part tomorrow to get new hubs with bearings in ( so cheap!) 14 bucks each.
Does anyone know if the hubs are the same between the 2.5's, 3.0's and 3.5's ? .
Reason I ask is there is a motley collection there. (NZ) and a lot of Jap import 2.5's.
I have a 3 litre.
Also might get a driveshaft while I'm there, passenger side, as the boot has been rooted for a while. Wondering if I have to find a 3l model or not, Not so common.
Thanks

lol You won't find NEW hubs with bearings in at a wreckers! (Best you could do is find one that isn't quite as shagged as yours.)
Why not strip and get a new bearing pressed in?

Same for the driveshaft.
BUT if you really want to replace with second hand parts, it's best to get bits from the same model as yours, so you don't have problems with drive shaft length, spline count etc.

Years ago, I had the front wheel bearings replaced in my wife's TF. Thie reason ultimately turned out to be crook tyres with runout, and replacing teh bearings did nothing except cost me a bomb for the time the mechanic spent. They are HARD to press out. Pressing the new ones in was equally hard. We had to grind down the old bearing rings to use as a mandrel. AS said, the oroblem didn't goa way and later we found it to be the tyres (Michelins, which were replaced under warranty).

Just wondering , If anyone knows,
Is ANY play acceptable at the wheel?
Thanks.
