Spent quite a bit of time checking forums but not sure where to start in looking at the following issue.

Have a V6 3.0 MGna TE and occasionally it will not start. Engine cranks over fine. Take key out and turn over and put back in and fires up fine.

So do keys actually wear out? Or could I be facing an immobiliser issue? Just have to say it runs perfectly fine and has failed to start about 3 times in the last 30 days. Never failed to start if I try straight away again to start car.

As the car is only worth a few thousand dollars, not keen to throw money at it and would rather spend it on something newer. Sigh, really concerned.
