Car information.
1999 magna th, auto , 230000ks.

im not the most knowledgeable person with cars so sorry if im a pain.

problem.
I've been having troubles this last week with acceleration and rough idling.
basically, when i put my foot down a little bit it seems to accelerate average but if i put my foot down
a fair amount to accelerate quickly from a idle position or moving at any speed the car is really sluggish no power going through then 5 or so seconds after it will react, causing a kind of blow back with no sound before hard and inconsistent acceleration. when idle the car is really rough and inconsistent and just abnormal to what it was before. also at one point the car would just pretty much stall like a manual.

Work done to try and fix problem
took it to my local mechanic and so far
computer scan found crank shaft to be faulty.
Front and Rear spark plugs/ignition leads replaced.
fuel filter.
new exhaust/extractors
crank shaft sensor and crank angle sensor, codes cleared.
cleaned throttle body.

EDIT!
there are no engine leaks or anything like that.

It would not be a torque converter as the car hesitates under throttle, with toque converter shudder, power loss is not usually an issue (it just shudders). I doubt its the vaccum leak also, it has to be a pretty big one to cause issues like that. Common problem which can cause what you are describing is usually caused by distributor cap and rotor (rotor wears out). Also i would not rule out maf sensor, pull it out & give it a clean with MAF cleaner (available from autobarn) see if that helps.

How did you go with this? Did the mechanic find the problem?
