Have you had your gas tuned recently?
Have you run a diagnostic on the computer?

Most likely a battery issue. Very common. Get it tested.

Just trying to understand,
So this only happens when you have it in petrol mode, not on gas?
Then if you switch to gas it will then struggle to start but eventually will?

Mine was doing something similar on LPG & petrol a month ago. Replaced battery and hasn't happened since.
Edit: I should point out that I had the battery tested first and it was stuffed. Would be a good place to start anyway.

could be a issue with the immobiliser as well

I just took it to the auto electrics down the road tested the battery that was fine, what wasn't was the rocket cover gasket had been leaking an leaked onto an in the alternator soaking the coil in oil getting it replaced so I'll see how it goes

It starts on gas, but dies on petrol. So not immobiliser. My guess is fuel pump, or fuel pump relay. Commodores with dual fuel have petrol pump problems if the petrol tank is allowed to get very low for a long time, pump burns out. I guess it must be running all the time when running on gas, just the fuel injectors are disabled. Perhaps the Magna fuel pump is active all the time, and it has cooked. (Flame me if this is completely and totally wrong. LOL, LeL, Lo, whatever)

I had the same problem with my TH and it turned out to be the Petrol Pump.

We had the same problem with our TJ, it would start run for 2 second I would hear a click under the dash & it would stall. This would happen most of the time when we started it & would take 2-3 starts for it to keep running.
After around 5 months the battery died so I bought a new one & we NEVER had that problem ever again. Always started first time every time.
The only thing I must say is when we replaced the battery the original radio never worked again?
I would try changing the battery, you never know.
