Boys, Having some issues with the TS Radiator, it,s pushing coolant out after a 1/2 run not getting hot however, just losing coolant. Suspect a hole somewhere or the screw on fiiting at the front leaking either way it's a pain in the arse. Have sussed out replacement unit locally in Brisbane range from $200 - $280 compared with Ebay $107.50 delivered. Question is has anybody had any experience with the cheapies on Ebay, obvious they would be imported from P.R.C. Come with 2 year warranty. Also anything I should know before I pull the old one out or is t as straight forward as it looks. Cheers Majordad

I have bought two of the ebay cheapies, no problems yet, one is over two years old and the other one in a different car was fitted two weeks ago, their all aluminium core so make sure you use a good brand of coolant to help slow down the corrosion, I use Nulon. Not sure how long they will last, not as long as the more expansive ones I'm sure, but they are ok. Cheers

Locate the leak before you buy a new one. Radiator cap should be your main suspect if no leaks found, coolant ends up coming out of the coolant bottle overflow onto the roadway. Or it may be leaking from one of those little hoses just above the gearbox. I know mine is, it has tiny pools of coolant sitting on the gearbox. Can't find the actual leak though, might be from the back of the water pump.

Max,

No it's not the cap dead set coming from the lhs body of the radiator I reckon or the small screw on fitting on the front lhs.

Is that the drain tap? If so, pull it out, clean it up and wrap it in plumber's PTFE tape and refit. Worth a try anyhow.

No it's not the drain tap at the bottom it's half way up the front of the radiator. It,s around an 8mm tube that originates somewhere and screws into a fitting vertically on front of radiator core, buggered if I know what it is or does

NFI myself . . . . doesn't sound standard. A random "mod" by a previous owner? lol

vertically on front of radiator core
Your not looking at the airconditoning condenser by mistake are you and the coolant is running onto it from the radiator behind it?
or the green dye they put in the aircon to help spot leaks? Vee

Visually absolutely nothing you can see, would have to pressurize it to find where the thing was leaking
