Hi All,

Just wondering where could I get a good system which includes the following amp, 6x9's for the rear and 6's for the front along with a 10" or 12" sub?

I think the max I could spend and this time is around $600

Any suggestions???

Please advise

Thanks

Ebay; there is no other way you'd get a "good" system with all those components for $600. A sub and amp with cabling etc is going to hit you up for $600 easily if you go brand new.

I fear he is right! My amp alone retails for more than $600 :(

Assuming you already have some kind of rear fill I'd just focus on splits, amp and a sub. Most people will tell you the front stage is more important.. personal taste though I guess.

Firstly With that kind of budget, Ide be looking at a decent headunit mp3, plenty out there shop around. $300~headunit $300~nice 6" splits. That should start you off nicely. Save up more money.. then look at subs/amps/wiring/.

Seeing as tho u are desperate, u could also try your hand at second hand products on car audio australia. Other than that, keep saving, and don't get your whole system in one blow if you're poor. Its better to wait and get quality components, then to get all ****ty parts.

Boss 1000w amp = 180
Pioneer splits 150w = 150
10" sub and box = 180.
wiring kit with the change.

might not go as good in a larger car but my oath it goes in mine

Small car wouldnt be a problem.. Especially since the charade is practically the size of a 15inch Sub box. hehe

as already stated u aint gonna get all those things for the price u want, my system is around the 2 thousand -2 and a half thousand mark ........ and even then ur still looking at the mid LOW end of productsdont know where u are from but i know tonkins in adelaide are having a huge sale ( i think) for the price u want id settle for some 6'9's n 6" splits in the front

though if u plan on getting a sub i wouldnt really bother bout getting 6'9's unless u really want it

Back when it was the same anyway, come to think of it the only similar thing now is our BOSS amps.

Have a look at some response audio gear from Jaycar. I can't say I've got alot of experience with their audio gear, but I recently bought a response 240 watt RMS sub amp, and a response 10 inch 250 watt RMS sub, and Im very happy with the sound, easily ****s on my old clarion 400 watt sub running off bridged 2x60 RMS channels on my boss amp. All up it cost me $350 for everything I needed (although amp was half price) and as far as value and quality for money goes, in my opinion its a very good deal. I reckon have a look at some jaycar gear, mainly due to their value for money, and the fact your on a bit of a budget.

i have heard a JBL 12" 250wRMS sub running off 2 of the 4 channels of a Boss 1000w amp, and then i have heard the same sub running off 2 channels of a clarion apx400.4.

The difference was massive! Maybe those 1000W boss amps would be ok for rear fill and 3 way 6 inchs, but for subs, god they are sh!t !

oh and for $600, and you really had to have a sub now i would suggest this:

Fusion 6.5inch splits $150
JBL 250wrms 12" sub in box $200 or a fusion for a bit more
Response 4 channel amp $220 or so i think?
wiring kit, they have massive margins on them so look to pay no more than 50% or their sticker price when u buy it from where u buy the other stuff. My mate picked up a good Fusion kit for $40.

thats off the top of my head, but there would be lots of different brands within this budget.

Remember with car stereo u have to pay a lot to improve a little. $600 can get you a decent sounding system dont u worry :)

As a student i know how you feel when you say a budget of $600 (my stereo to date has only cost me about $400), if i had to re-do my stereo i'd go boss audio, they are fairly cheap yet deliver a pretty good sound (sure theres better **** but who wants to pay $3k when ur income is like $5k a year lol). My suggestion :-
Boss Audio stuff :-
mp3 HU - $180
1000 watt amp - $180
200 watt 6" splits - $80
500 watt 12" Sub - $60(bridge the sub to 2ch, this means on the 1000 watt amp it'll be running at 500watt).
That makes $500. Plus you got amp cabling kit and all your RCA and speaker leads will add up to around $600 (this is WITHOUT haggling, i'm sure you could get this system around 500-550 all up). It would sound nice, have ur 6" on the parcel shelf and your tweeters on the roof up front or on your front doors.
