Im very mechanically sound but i started having problems with idling and transmission changing and high fuel consumption so i was chatting to a even more mechanically minded guy who has over 55 years in this field suggested i buy a new fuel cap well i be buggered now when i undo the cap i get so much wooooosh from undoing the cap and now my consumption and every thing else is great well i be buggered lol $19 for a brand new fuel cap. the spare parts guy at Mitsubishi told me that the TL and TW had a dodgy cap lol so if you start having problems change that 1st as it cheap lol

Wow. It's amazing a fuel cap was affecting idle and gear changing. So changing the cap has sorted both idle and gear changes.?

There was no sarcasm or a stab at anyone. I'm suprised pressure in the tank caused gear changing issues in the auto. Idle I can see being affected.

Yeah also with gear changes I was surprised as well I thought my trans was fked. but because of the pressure in the tank maybe it feels smoother cause its running correctly now
