Hello c:

Have encountered a problem which i have had for a while but just worked with it, its time to fix it.

The negative wire in the male plug that goes into the master window switch is loose, resulting in no windows working, unless i pull the window switch out and wiggle it around. I thought it would be a relativly simple re-solder type job, but it may be a bit more. As far as i can see, i have 2 options (maybe more if you can think of something).

pull the negative wire out by force, strip the tip and resolder back in place, or;
purchase a new male loom piece, and resolder all the wires to the main loom, leaving me with a relativly fresh negative terminal.

The reason i cant simply re-solder it is that the wire is firmly fixed in place to the male part, and i dont want to force it out from fear of breaking something (see pictures).

Your opinion is appreciated, as i am sick of pulling into maccas and forgetting my damn windows are disconnected -.-

it looks like someone has had a go at it already.

It needs a clean with contact cleaner for a kick off. Have you tried bending the pin on the window switch side to ensure contact or can you pull the wire out? It is a common issue for this pin to get dirty. It is very very uncommon for the wire to seperate from the pin itself in plugs!

Probably the wire plug and socket for the negative wire inside the plastic are a loose fit, plug them together and use a small screwdriver from the back to mate them better (Often they recede inside the plastic and don't make good contact). If that doesn't work, cut both neg wires and solder in a bridge outside the plastic plug and socket. Some shrink wrap or insulation tape and you are good to go.

thanks for the replys, contact cleaner sounds like the go. will also try slightly reshaping the male part in the female plug (hope that makes sense) to get a better contact point.

Will post results.

Thanks again c:
