Hi am newbie member. Have had a 2003 Magna verada from new . Normally all ok but went away for 3 months came back battery flat. Charged battery and car starts and runs fine but then no increase in revs when push accelerator. cable is ok and operates but zero increase in revs. Car goes into gear and can drive at 3 mph Mitsibushi dealer has no idea wants $200 just to pick up car on towtruck . TCL light is intermittant. Been looking at threads but cant finf a thing

I know nothing about TCL Magnas, BUT another thread with a similar problem came up a few days ago. Stuck throttle plate in the throttle body. Have a search.

(Sounds to me like TCL Magnas don't link the throttle cable directly to the throttle plate, could be stuck due it sitting around unused for 3 months.)

Butterfly in Throttle Body

Unfortunately I was overseas when this happened to the GTV and my old man spend $2500 with Mitsu to have it rectified.

If you can find yourself a cheap replacement TB, do that, so you can be mobile (You'll require one with TCL & Cruise) - Check out Salisbury Wrecking, last time I was there, they had a KJ Verada, interior stripped completely, but the motor was still intact. (This is of course if you're in Brisbane)

Once you have it off, take a look at the butterfly and make sure that it moves freely - If you're mechanically minded..

Pull it a part and clean things up..
