Ok

So my speedo will go from zero to all the way around to the other side of the pin on start up! Sometimes it will spring back to action other times it will just go from 20 to 140 to around the clock again. All over the shop!

Now I replaced the VSS with no change in the situation! Can anyone tell me what my next step should be or any tips?

Thanks guys

Have you pulled out the speedo and cleaned up the terminals..?

Yeah I will do that this afternoon! But was thinking that was going to be an unlikely fix.

Hmm..

I say give it a good clean up and see how that works..

If you've changed the speed sensor.. This is the only other thing I could think of.

My cluster just stopped working one day
I pulled it out,
Unplugged it,
Blew some air through the plugs and then used a little contact cleaner too
All back together and TADA!

Gave it a good clean out just before! No change =( So maybe it's worth me just getting a new set of clusters..

It's strange because it only seemed to pop up after I did a tranny drain and fill!

Have you cleaned the contacts for the VSS? Make sure that is not the issue.
Edit: Have you noticed any electrical issues like stereo not turning on etc? Could be electrical short somewhere.

Ain't it just trans oil in the hole? Pop a bit of new oil on the new one and put it in! Any tips?

I am talking about the electrical cable that is connected to the VSS. Have you made sure it is clean and not corroded?
