I am about to replace the driver's side driveshaft on my TF manual Magna. It appears that the driveshaft is fixed to a short intermediate shaft with a bearing housing in the middle. My manual says the driveshaft along with short intermediate shaft have to be removed together as one piece. Can someone help me with the following questions:
(1) How do I separate the intermediate shaft with bearing housing from the old driveshaft CV?
(2) How do I fit the intermediate shaft onto the new driveshaft?
(3) The workshop manual says to tighten the two bearing housing bolts to 45nM (33 ft/lbs) which seems a lot as they only look like 8mm bolts (I haven't removed them yet).
(4) It seems nearly impossible to get a torque wrench anywhere near the bolts anyway. Has anyone tightened them with a torque wrench? If so, how did you do it?
Thanks. Peter
