Can i please get some opinions on how heavy the steering is on a 380. Mine has always seemed very heavy, especially in relation to other cars i've driven????? Are they all this way????

No mate shouldn't be "heavy" might be a problem with your power steering pump. Have you checked the fluid level?

Yeh mate, fluid level is fine, car just spent 6 weeks at Wakelings at Campbelltown for a noise they caused in the engine, so they replaced heaps of things including the power steering pump.
Maybe i'm expecting too much, i had a Hyundai i40 as a loan car and i could have near turned its steering wheel with 2 fingers.

I've got a 2006 SX, 72000 kms, no mods, everything standard. Steering is fine, not heavy and is easy to steer. I can easily do a U-turn just using the heel of one hand.

Heavy compared to what. Need to compare to another 380 as many customers who have come out of 1 car into a 380 state is heavy until they drive another one

Fair enough, i was comparing it to a Hyundai i40 which i'm guessing wasn't a good idea!!! Dealer said new cars have much more sophisticated steering and are featherweight.

Yeah I drive my dads 2010 maxima and its really heavy compared to the 380. I was shocked at one point! haha
MY TS was lighter than the 380, it feels pretty damn heavy to me though compared to other cars. I have problems with my shoulders from pinched nerves, so I get some pain if i try to spin the wheel a bit to fast. But it doesnt feel any different to the 380's I test drove either. Probably wouldnt mind trying again in some just to see though.

I don't find my 380 steering heavy, but I reckon it's a bit slow.
It's not easy to chuck it through tight corners or take roundabouts at speed, because the steering isn't quick enough or sharp enough.
No worries about the feel or the car's balance, grip & roadholding, it's just the slow steering that's a pain when I push it a bit.
Or it could be that I'm just a crap driver!

By slow do you mean too many turns from lock to lock? ie you have turn the wheel a long way to achieve a desired change of road wheel direction?

cars have moved on since the 380, most now come with electric power steering which is caibrated so its really light when going slow for parking

Actually, thats probably a better description of how it feels for me too. It's theres some resistance on the wheel when you're turning corners, it doesn't feel quite as fluid with it's motions.
