I bought a 4mtr roll to do my roof but had it resprayed instead as the clearcoat was peeling so was unsure about applying it to a poor base. So now I'm looking for a use for it.
Started with the front lip, might do the door handles as the drivers side is peeling a bit. Can always pull it off if I dont like it.
Did the chrome ring around the gearshift.

Looks crash hot mate!
Really neat job, looks pro.
Got any pics of the gearshift surround, thinking of doing the same to mine (but manual instead of auto), might hit you up for 'spare' bit of carbon fibre.

well done mate looks good.
i was considering getting front spoiler painted black (as well as the little insert just below the mitsubishi symbol on the front).
may end up wrapping them instead and can always take the wrap off later down the track.

Heres the wrap on the chrome shift ring. I will do it again as you can see a bit of chrome showing through. You have to remember to cut slightly oversize and tuck overlap in with the supplied tool (or fingernail)

Looks very good chrisv.
I reckon all the interior trims would look good covered in that stuff!

I bought some di-noc 3M months and months ago with the intention of doing this, but never got around to it, the lip looked pretty intimidating to get right. I'd love to hear any installation tips? For the gear selector surrounds too.
Did you do anything to the lip paint before you applied the wrap?
I've wrapped my double din fascia, I'm really happy with that in the interior. It can be addictive, wrapping things in carbon fibre!

I just wiped the front lip with metho before applying. Sticks like you know what!
Went on pretty easy provided you cut well oversize to allow for the curve and use heat gun.

hey Chris, did you consider doing the insider of the gear selector surrond instead of the ring? if so why did you choose the chrome rather than the inside part? was it ease of application?

Just cos it looked easier to do as I was really just 'experimenting'. I am considering other internal stuff now I am more confident.

Did mine today, doesn't look anywhere as near as good as yours Chris. I've got two prominent 'cracks' where i couldn't get the damn stuff straight, and one smoothed part where you can't see the texture of the faux-fibre because i blasted it with the heat gun trying to smooth it.
Ah well, it looks amazing from a distance of 3 metres plus, I'll leave it on unless i get too much sh*t from the peers

Maybe put some of the carbon wrap around the front edge of the tray just below the stereo too?

How much did you pay for the clear coat respray and where from? I've noticed it's happening on my roof as well and I've got onto it early.
I like the idea of a carbon fibre toilet seat too.

I'll PM if you want with contact details

Funny, i was actually thinking about that yesterday, but that tray gets a lot of use, and i have a feeling that it wouldn't stay flush. Might give it a go regardless, i've got some wrapping left that isn't really big enough for anything else
Looks good. Well done
Cheers, it's much too flawed for my liking, I'll see if one day i get the motivation and attack it a-fresh. The colour looks great though, i'm quite happy with that

Just a small tip for anyone that has troubles with fitting these vinyl wraps - a heatgun works wonders!
These wraps are flexible and become very malleable when they get hot, so it it with a heatgun and stretch it a bit. Looks tops when you do it right - especially around curves/edges/bends etc
Probably the only way to also wrap around the fog light surrounds.
Otherwise, these actually look really good. I'm not a fan at all, of the carbon fibre wrap craze that's doing the rounds now (love matt black or similar but not fake carbon) but the front actually looks great. I think the grille surround needs to also be done to compliment the front end.
Here's a vid on how to wrap a bonnet - it should really help with learning the tricks on how to wrap with vinyl.

protip: Don't get frustrated at overlaps that look like cracks and point the heatgun directly at the spot in spiteful vain - it will get hot and melt the lovely textured surface
