G'day guys and gals!

I have an odd question. Even an odd idea.

I installed the verada rear 1/4 lights in my TF and they are wired to the doors. Thats all well and good, but when you shut the door you can't see anything! I was wondering, is there a dimming control i can install?

I had a weird idea of having a double trigger wire to them. THIS COULD SOUND STUPID i don't do wiring..

The key light in the ignition barrel turns off when a key goes in, or around 5 seconds after the doors are shut? Can you wire a trigger from that to the internal lights and also have the door switches as a trigger?

Do double triggers work? Just because the key light doesn't always turn on, but the door lights always turn on when you open the doors.

Does that make sense? I want my internal lights to dim. Any ideas? Modules you install?

so i assume you just wire it to the trigger? or to power then to trigger?

Have you used one before?

this has a talk about installing the euro style dimming lights if you want to.

you can also install ones that keep the lights running for like 5-10 seconds after the door shuts if you wanted to, depends what you want.

I did this ages and ages ago when I had my TE (10 years ago now) and from memory, you will need to isolate the door wire from the dimming system with a relay, otherwise whenever the light is on (using the delay) the car thinks the door is open and will not lock.

I have an aftermarket security system if that matters about it recognising the door is shut and not locking? If it doesn't work i'll just bin the idea haha

It shouldn't matter what system you have, the system will perceive that a door is open whenever the light is on or dimming.

Verada idea is easier.
