Hi was just wondering if any one had attempted to use the Axxess ASWC to keep their steering wheel controls with a aftermarket Head unit. Tried Wiring one up today and have blown my internal Lighting Fuse? Tried running it off of the Accessory/ ciggi lighter 12v cable. and tried connecting to the green/orange wire on the 10pin connecter from the old stereo, is this right? any help or suggestions appreciated.
thanks

These are the instructions for Mitsubishi Galant in the US. I am fairly sure it would be the same for the 380.

I wouldn't go powering it off anything other than the radio harness. I imagine it would consume very little power, so won't cause a fuse overload problem on the radio power circuit.

If you've blown a lighting circuit fuse, it's either 1. coincidence or 2. the same fuse which powers the cigarette lighter (where you got your 12v from) and you've made a wiring error/haven't insulated unused or joined wires properly.

Hope this helps.

So you recommend running it off the same power wire from the radio harness? Just splice it in is ok? Maybe I just didn't have a good enough connection with power and/or ground. And I did try with the wires ffrom the 10pin connected reversed e.g wired to 10 instead of 5, maybe they blew the fuse. Thanks

Yes, undoubtedly reversing those wires has caused a live to ground short and cooked your fuse.

And yes, I would use the radio power to run it, because that is what the manufacturer reccommends. Your radio probably has a 10 or 15amp fuse, and ASWC at a guess would pull much less than half an amp.

You will need to make sure you pull power from the right place in the radio harness. I am not sure, but I doubt it takes battery (constant, always on) power. If you hook it to this, you may flatten your battery. More than likely it should be hooked to ignition power... check the manual.
