Thats trash, he cant run 17PSi on oem internals of a 14+ year old car and actually move anywhere without it exploding in a fierce rage of pressure, i'd take 7psi, but 17? people dont even push GTR's to that extent without getting better rods and bolts etc i think we is being lied to.

i thought gtr's, supras were fine for that sorta boost, not sure on the ol' magna, still they've done well.

Everything ive read it has been about 15 then they need a rebuild with better components to handle more boost, like 2bar

have u also read bout how well the astrons handle forced induction? it's because they have a low compression (8.8:1) which is pretty much wat a turbo car needs to run some decent boost. but thats not the only reason the astron is good to turbo. the internals are pretty strong. he obviously would've rebuilt it and it says he's done some headwork to it (perhaps even skimmed the head to get even lower compression to run more boost). the astrons are underrated, and now i c u also underrate them

you want to lower compression to run more boost brendan, skimming/decking raises it.

i've seen an article of a turbo'd TN and it was running 12psi on stock internals no probs.
