Hope someone can help with this...

Finished off the manual conversion today. For all you guys that make it sound easy, your either beasts or just lying. If you have to rip everything out of the donor car and then start conversion it's a big job.

Anyway.. towards the end of the day I handed my mechanic the wiring instructions for the reverse lights and inhibitor switch while I finished off something else. I really don't know what he did but afterwards the car started no problems only there were no reverse lights. The odd thing was that there is constant dash illumination on ignition?

So basically every time you start the car the dash lights up whether the lights are turned on or not. Has he just buggered the reverse lights and dash is unrelated? I'm not good with wiring and I have no clues what went wrong but from what I can gather he cut the reverse plug off the manual loom the wired it into the auto loom and plugged it into the reverse plug on the box. What could he have done wrong there?

If anyone is good with wiring /electrics I'd love some theories.

Thanks

well, the wiring is simple, put your head under and see if its done correctly....connect Black/yellow and Black/Red together in the inhibitor switch to trick the ecu in to thinking its in neutral ( this is the big plug that connected near where the auto gear selector is. Black/white wire to the red wire on the reverse light plug the red/blue wire to the red/blue wire on the plug. you will also find these wires in the same spot as for the wires for the neutral setup. you will find a series of thin wires, and a series of thick wires, its the thick wires you need

Ok, thanks for that will double check it.

Any thoughts on the instrument cluster lights being permanently on? Someone?
