Can anyone tell me where knock sensor on 3rd gen diamante is mounted? Im in the process of trying to retro fit one to our 6g74 motor.

In the valley under the inlet manifold

hahaha thought so, damn will have to take off the blower, whats there atm? is the thread empty or does it have some kind of screw covering it?
i assume it will be blanked out rather than missing altogether since some export diamantes were made here

Do you have the complete knock sensor bracket as well as the sensor? The sensor mounts into the bracket, which is then bolted with 4 bolts where MadMagna said. It sits over the top of the coolant pipe. I believe the 4 mounting holes, already threaded and not blocked off, are there in 74 blocks.

Hmmm gotta find the bracket somewhere then, i found knock sensors on ebay but they have no mounting bracket.

That looks like the photos on rockauto (the part number shown on that site for a 3.5l Diamante is MD159216).
As far as I've been able to determine, the same bracket and mounting bolts were used on the 6G72, 6G74 & 6G75. 2nd gen 6G72s and 6G75 conversions might be a source - except that most 6G75 conversions don't bother to remove the bracket & sensor :(
My understanding is that the mounting bolts and sensor need to be torqued to spec for the ECU knock processing to work reliably (well... as reliably as that technology works...).

When I do the 75 conversions I used to remove them to make things tidy but these days leave them incase someone is able to activate this part in the ECU or use an aftermarket system to connect to this. There is a bridge plage under the manifold which connects to both banks.

Any second gen V6 at the wreckers will donate the parts needed.

So this is it? 14905

The Bosch branded ones from a Volvo work just fine too and are easier to remove at the wreckers. They're located on the side of the Volvo engine. A couple of us here in SA have "temp" retro fitted them for future use.

Any way of fitting it without taking manifold of (in my case the supercharger)?

Yes, 14905 is the bracket and 14974 are the mounting bolts. It might be possible with skinny arms to get it in place, but I don't like your chances of being able to torque the mounting bolts properly.
The reason for being careful with torqueing these components is that the sensor is basically a microphone, and the bracket is performing as a distributed pickup so that the sensor gets fairly uniform vibration transmission from all cylinders. Getting the torque wrong upsets the sensitivity of the sensor and the vibration transmission.
