I've been driving my diamante around and I want to put some money into it.

The main thing that worries me is the suspension, plenty of power with the 3.5 but when I take banking turns onto freeway my car will hit the road. How do you guys go around choosing a suspension and where would one get it (I'm from America so it may be a problem). I've heard that the gallant suspension is the same.

Also where do you guys get your front spoiler. I got my car passed down and it has a trailer hitch sized hole in the front and the back is all lumpy.

Thanks

Hi buddy,

Here in Australia when it comes to suspension there are a few choices and combinations when it comes to choosing aftermarket suspension setups. The choice is usually between a upgraded aftermarket spring and shock setup or going coilovers.

For a standard suspension upgrade, the choice is commonly between Lowell, King Springd, Pedders or Dobinsons. Shockers/Dampers the choice can be between Boge, KYB, Koni, Pedders, Gabriel among others ...

The best and most common combo is kings/dobinsons with Boge shocks. Boge is an international company so you might be able to find a local retailer. I know King Springs and Dohinsons are Australian made so they might be hard to buy overseas. Maybe someone here is willing to buy it and send it over for you....

Do Diamante's run the same suspension setup as Australian models? I thought some overseas models ran double A arm?

Jap spec Diamantes run different suspension, but US spec Diamantes are Australian exports (I think) and have the same suspension.

I ran camber kits (front and rear) on my TJ and they were from a US Diamante.

Yep USDM diamantes have the same MacPherson strut suspension setup as we do. Its only the JDM versions that got double whishbone setup.

Anything that fits our cars will fit there's. I think the OP is going to have is gaining access to the suspension parts we use. Surely there are aftermarket suspension available for the diamantes in the US.

D2 make coilovers that are available in the US for around the USD$1300 mark.
