Hi all
I went to my local U-Pull-It today to grab a boot release button so I can wire in a second boot release to my 380's boot. However, I can't for the life of me get the glovebox (in the 380) out in order to access the wiring on the existing boot release. On the Magna I pulled the other button from I just had to remove the 4 screws along the top and the whole thing came down. I have removed all the screws along the inside of the top of the 380's glovebox but it still seems to be sticking somewhere. Do I need to remove the bottom ones (at the hinges) as well?
Thanks.

I think you have to remove the trim above the glove box as well...

just had a look....with the lo box in the open position ,you need to squeeze the sides in so tabs holding it up are free, then it drops down..there is some sort of wire release thing that needs to be removed as well

I managed to get the glovebox off enough to access he boot switch, can't get the damn thing back in to place though :/ Can't get the guide pins to line up. Oh well, will keep trying tomorrow

All back in place now, and the steering column boot switch is done too :)

The whole idea of having the boot switch in the glovebox is to stop inadvertently pressing it and opening the boot while travelling....

I guess you worked that out before you did the mod? (no way any unfamiliar driver will ever press it at 100km/h is there?) ;)

I would have to put my knee at an unnatural position in order to accidentally hit the boot switch. In any case, if I do hit it while going 100kph, the lip spoiler should create enough downforce to keep the boot closed ;)

Maybe a photo of the mounting location would assist?

I notice a lot of Sydney taxis (mostly Foulcans) have them zip tied to the handbrake lever

It's impossible for me to accidentally hit the switch with my knee in that mounting position.
