Anything's possible (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91654&p=1522966&viewfull=1#post1522966), but I can't recall of anyone who's done this so far.

Ask MR SPL, or see his sponsor thread/section, Loudz Creations

Dont bother.......not worth it unless you are going full on custom....

LED globes dont "shine "backwards enough to light up the reflector and
your tail light lenses are too dark to allow the led to shine through properly

Would only work half decent on TL/TW tails

well i was thinking of getting clear tail lights and coloured LED's

They are still 'frosty' and not clear enough.

Still wont work how you want or expect them to,just saying...

Yeh, what Mike said. I tried reds, whites and super whites. Might as well had a match back there it would have been brighter :(. Gone back to normal globes and staying that way.

Depending on your skill it may not be too hard, just time consuming, you will need alot of LED's in order to produce a decent amount of lights because as Maggie has said LED's are directional, they dont have the 360 degree (and then some) output of light like a traditional globe.

I have been thinking about doing this myself but making my own fiberglass taillight and filling it with LED's but at the end of the day, I don't think its worth it.

it seems good in theory and seeing all the new cars with LED lights make me want them more but those ones are designed for them
well i can always try some other mods
thanks for your help anyway guys

360 degree (and then some)

Are you saying standard globes transcend spacetime?

I've considered getting appropriate LED stipping and retrofitting it into the TE-TH tail light assembly, but I held back due to possible legal issues (lack of light output, mainly with brake lights on, ADR etc) Similar to what MR SPL/Loudz Creations has done, but on 3rd gen tails.

By all means have a crack at putting LED globes in. Just make sure that:
- They have appropriate light output (180 degrees minimum) and brightness
- They have two seperate brightness levels (the kind the Magna's use, dual filiment)
- You stay away from the ones that have multiple LED's, but they all point in one direction.

SMD globes work quite well, check the wattage and see if there's any pics of their brightness. SMDs (Surface Mounted Diodes) give off similar light to a bulb (albeit limited to 180 degrees) such as they dont really have light or dark areas, and have a more natural light emission.

LED brake lights caused my Cruise Control to stop working. I only realised this was why it wasnt working after another member posted a similar issue so I swapped bulbs and it started working again.
