Hey all, my first time in your forum. I've had magnas, verandas and 380's as company cars for many years and loved them. Now I'm not in that job anymore I now bought my own TW Magna. Problem is I know what fuel economy I should get out of my car from previous experience but mine seems thirsty. It done 102k's so I've done oil & filter and tried to do fuel filter. I follow good advice from a previous thread on this forum and made it easy to do exept I could stop fuel from dripping out after disconnecting lines. I know a small amount should come out but after about a lost litre I decided to reconnect old filter. Any ideas please why fuel won't stop coming out. I depressuized first. Thanks

I could be syphoning out of the tank. Try changing it when the tank level is lower.

Thanks madmagna for your help.
I tried with my own thread to find out about getting a tool to remove the coupling on the fuel line, but have had Zero response. Any clues as to where I can get a tool to remove the coupling on teh fuel line? What size is the fuel line? Can I get a universal one from Repco or Supercheap? Any response welcome.
well I got mine off, was a bit of a mission, theres the 2 little tabs with tiny steps in it which you should be able to see, get the smallest possible flathead screw driver you have, and there should be a gap on either side of the tab, stick the screw driver in slowly and lift the tabs on both sides. Make sure the tabs stay up, then it should come off. Only use this method if you don't have the tool, but once you put the hose back on, make sure both tabs are pushed back into where they and how they are suppose to sit, then put the hose back on, make sure it clicks aswell to assure that the hose is securely clipped on.
Chow:
It starts to make sense now - I had read the DIY instructions as though you press the tabs in. I thought it was funny, but maybe the teeth which endage on the pipe were pivoted. From what you say, you have to pull them OUT rather than IN. Correct? Thanks for your help.

Tabs should be pressed IN, not out. Not sure how that one came off with them out
There is a took you can get to do these or some pointy nose pliers will often work
Thanks Mal: I bought a tool but I cannot see how it will press the tabs in, unless it gets under the tab tangs. I'll try to do it when I am mre able to get into the area. I cannot see how the tabs can go IN - maybe they are already in. The tops of the tabs are certainly flush with the outer diameter of the hose fitting. I just want to get the fuel pump out to inspect the filter sock, but at this stage, no go.
