View Full Version : Verada xi headlight mod for TJ Magna
I had a quick search on the forum but couldn't find anything.
Im looking to swap my grill and Headlights over to Verada Xi spec, is there an instructional on how to do this? I've heard you gotta do some wiring :woot:
Would the best place to get there parts be off the wreckers?
Thanks, John

If they are Verada parabolic head lights you will have to put in park lights, unless you use the bumper as well. And yes do some wiring, how much depends on if they are one or two piece.

The best read I have seen on here about the fitment of the headlights.

Makes sa difference if 1 or 2 pc lights, cut the red wire and ground it to the build, simple as that
Thanks guys, that read-up looks very good.
Do you suggest buyig the lights off ebay or look around in places such as the wreckers?
I got my pair from Jamie @ Loudz Creations.
Check out his sponsorship section to get a better idea of the different styles. He has heaps of photos

If you're lucky you'll find them at a wreckers (pick a part etc.) for $100, that's where I got mine, however you really do need a lot of luck to find them, and also have them in good condition.
If you want them guaranteed in good condition get them from somewhere like Mitsfix or Cracka, who could probably help you with the wiring/parker light as well.

As above - wreckers are usually an affordable place to get yourself a set of parabolics. If you look around and are quick you can probably get a decent set for under $150. Jollys wreckers in Dandenong/Ringwood have their stock online - sign up for their email alerts and keep your eyes pealed. The para's are very sought after and are quickly snapped up so be quick!
Otherwise there's plenty of wreckers in Melbourne who sell mitsubishi magna/verada parts. Pick-a-part in Cambelfield/Kilsyth often have magna's but they are not often veradas and the actual wrecker yards are very shabby. Imalchs in Clayton/Springvale tend to have a decent range of Magnas/Verada's but can be a little pricey. Deer Park wreckers up north also tend to get magnas reasonably often.
Doesn't hurt to pick up the phone and call around.
Don't forget to check our FS section. Member "Wiggles" is currently selling two good sets of 2pce para's. He's a really good bloke to deal with!
Also keep an eye out on ebay - often enough good para's from Aus (or even NZ) come up for a reasonable price. I picked up my first set of 1piece para's for $160 incl. delivery and working globes. If you want a few more rada pieces then you might be able to find a run-down 3rd gen Verada going for cheap. You could probably strip it and make some money off it too.
If you want top condition ones then hit up our new forum sponsor - Unique Mits Bits. He often has good sets. Mitsfix do sell para's as well if you don't want to pay for postage.
Wiring information can be found in the DIY section of Tech Torque. You might even find a kind enough Vic member who'd be willing to give you a hand.
