Is this possible? I assume there would just be a kit of some kind that one could use to convert the existing headlights to dusk sensing?
Has anyone done it, or thought about it, or know anything about doing it?

I've thought about this & is one mod I would like .....

Totally possible.
Damo may soon have these and Rain sensing wipers with it.

Cool will it interface with the existing light sensor?

Rain sensing wipers would be the next convenience project. has anybody already done dusk sensors? I'm sure i read about it somewhere, but it may have just been a planned mod.

I wondered this too, I noticed when I was looking at diagrams yesterday there is a light sensor, but wasn't sure exactly what it is supposed to do, so didn't mention it - i would think if its possible, it would by far be easiest and cheapest option!

I'm all for it if it uses the factory sensor & has a delay before it switches the lights on. I see so many camry/aurion lights flicking on & off just coz they go into a shaded area under a bridge or something ..... now thats a bit crap in my opinion .....

Circuit description suggests it is contolled by ignition "ON". Would need add another control switch if you needed to disable it
Not sure if it is a kit or just a circuit idea

Rob the system uses 2 switches and the light sensor is part of the rain sensor. It is the same system Sufz, myself and heaps of others have in their 3rd gens. Works very well. As for the stalk, I'm not sure if a galant stalk has auto, but I will look into it.
The rain sensor is in the same system, which means even though they are independently switched, the lights will come on when it is raining automatically etc. There is a delay for on and a long on for off.
I can give you a demo next time I'm down.

The dusk sensor on the dash is for the climate control.

Yup, as soon as I have the Magna moved, I hope to get auto lights/wipers put in by Mike.
I've seen the same kit used on 3rd gens and it works very well.

They're an automatic speed too (not just low/high), which suits me because I'm continually adjusting my intermittent wipers in light rain...

Fooz the system is headlights and wipers as 1 unit. You get them as part of the device.

I think this is what confused me. I was looking for a kit, but all I can see is a circuit diagram.

I'm sorry, what device are we talking about?

It is a module that adds the auto headlights and parklights as well as the rain sensing wipers.
Are you wanting a factory system or something?

No, I think I'm a little lost - I didn't see any mention of this module until your post. sorry. where does one obtain the module?

Can you post a pic of the packet or something? I had one of the headlight controlers really really early on called "Headlight Commander". It required quite alot of stuffing about to install as you needes relays and it couldnt independantly control the parkers and lights. It was crude but it was a Supercheap $20 thing so meh.

i understand and quite like this idea myself but personally i will just wire my park lights into the ign so they will always be on regardless of the switch being on or off. leave it also into the switch as i can then turn it on when the car is off and i will leave my headlights as manual control.

Done like dogs nuts.
it was easy enough once Mike helped me work out what I was actually trying to do (Thanks Mike)!
I took photos along the way, so if there is enough demand, I can probably squeeze out a DIY
