Sorry for the spam guys, i love this forum and i love my magna but i just finished putting 6 new regular sparks (no platinums) and when i accidently took the throttle position sensor out and back in again the transmission started acting way off, i even reset the battery so the transmission could re-adjust itself to anything new and also had to take the throttle cable off the plenum too and screwed that back on.....would there be any calibration issues and if so any thoughts would go along way! thanks heaps for your help!

If you disconnected the battery that would be why. The transmission control module resets itself when the battery is disconnected, and a re-learn procedure needs to be undertaken to alleviate the flaring/harsh shift issues.

Not too sure about the TPS, but if you put it back in the exact same position, I don't imagine there would be an issue. But normally setting a TPS involves using a multimeter and measuring resistance.

edit: quoting ziek..
"...to adjust the TPS you need contacts 3 and 4, last 2 pins on the TPS (4 is earth) you turn the TPS anti-clockwise, check with multimeter and it should read 0 oHms. then turn the TPS clockwise slowly till you get an oHm reading.

forgot to add, when addjusting the TPS, make sure you have the throttle off the throttle stop screw by 3-5mm"
