Got the tj 2001 sports, was just wondering if anyone has tried or knows if a gallant front bar will fit onto my car i've spent ages trawling through google to no avail so will one like this (pictured) fit on?
Thanks in advance for answering yet another annoying question :nuts:http://mallen101.files.wordpress.com/2007/09/dscf7384.jpg

Didn't jesse james put one on his Magna wagon at one point?
I reckon it'd be entirely possible, but would require a bit of custom work to pull off. Probably not worth it $$$-wise unless you could do the majority of the work yourself.

I asked Jesse James about the bar conversion.
He said it's not worth the time and money to do it properly. He might have been making a mold for it, but i dont think he got around to it

This is Jesse_james' custom front bar. Appears to be a post-facelift Galant bar

I think you might be talking of the Bunbury Motorsports kit? I.e. the front bar on ARS55' (the real 'Mad Max' magna!) black matt turbo magna?
It was a very limited run and even then was very expensive. If you ever find for sale, then buy a lotto ticket while you're at it because you'd be on a very good lucky steak.

As far as body kits go - there isn't much variety with aftermarket kits at all. All there is available in Australia right is basically from carmate. It's all fibreglass, looks pretty average (imho) and the company is horrible to deal with. None of the kits are a good fit so it'll need to be bent and moulded by a pro to fit. I think Sinex have also stop making the front bars they used too.
Remember, this is a magna - made for families and purchased by a large majority of aged people. If you buy a magna with the intention to visually modify it with anything other than factory body kits, then you've purchased the wrong car.
With enough money and the right amount of skill - just about anything is possible. That galant bar could probably be moulded to fix but it wouldn't be cheap, unless you've got the proficiency to do it yourself.
If you manage to come across a cheap galant/leggy bar then, if you're reasonably crafty or just game, then with a bit of fibeglassing, plastic welding, bending and some bog you could probably make it fit somehow. The galant looks relatively similar to the front end of a magna (judging by the guards and general shape). Either way - you'll need to be very patient!
Start first by understanding how to fibreglass. Do lots of research and practice! Also learning how to bend and mould plastic using a heat gun will go a long way.
Here's a great start from the very helpful and incredibly knowledgeable member 'Redliner'. He's very helpful and can make just about anything with anything using fibreglass. Watch all his videos for good entertainment and very valuable knowledge on all things non-metal fabricating.

thanks PI, i understand that there isnt much out there, im fairly confident with fibreglass but seems like alot of work is needed perhaps beyond what I can achieve but with work I have so little time to do anything with my car :'( so i guess i will just continue on with the VRX kit plans :)
