View Full Version : SRS Light on....How to get rid off??

Hey after stripping my interior....The SRS light is on.....Its the KID WITH A BALL AND SEATBELT light.....I took the seats out while the battery was still connected....and put everything back in....My car has the side air bags.....Is this common with the car?? How can i get rid of that light??

You need to go to a dealer and get the codes wiped and reset.

Is this common?? and are they going to charge an arm and a leg?? can a normal mechanic do it??

Try moving the seat position. My wifes TW sometimes has the SRS light on when the seat is in a certain posiition.

this why you unplug the battery if you play with anything with airbags

I thought you could clear this error with the bluetooth OBD2 and an app like Torque?

Engine codes can be cleared by a lot of aftermarket scanners but SRS codes need something more specialised

There is no need to remove the battery for removing bags, I never have in years BUT you also dont turn on the ignition either as the system will detect that the particular bag is missing.

When you unplug any airbag there is a safety tab in the plug which shorts both the terminals thus in effect shorting the pins and making the bag safe
