could be the battery or the crank angle sensor.

I've recently had he same problem. In fact mine refused to start 5 mins ago. Turned over but wouldnt fire for 3 or 4 attempts. Last time it did this I got the battery checked and it was fully charged. I dont get any CELS showing so I'm wondering if it could be the key?
I'll follow this thread with interest.

Yea I don't think it's the battery cos like I said it starts first time no worries even if it hasn't been driven in awhile and when it is kicking over even if I hold it there for awhile it dnt get sluggish it sounds fine idk I'll take it in on weds I havnt wiped the code this time so they can scan it see what's goin on

Yea so went in first thing they said is Reset ur computer again and try ur spare key did that first try Bam same prob wouldnt start and engine light but on so took it in and tested it error code logged was the crank angle sen the tested it and yes sure enough it wasnt getting a signal.
But here's the crap news they said its going to be 160 for new crank angle sen and they said its located behind the timing belts do now I have to get them done as well since my cars up to 96,000 ks so sad face for me :(

Doing the cam belt and CAS at the same time saves on labour. If you had the belt done, then had the CAS fail afterwards, you would be up for the labour cost twice. So in one way you are lucky. Still going to hurt money wise though.

Make sure the dealer correctly enters this information into the car's service records, will be useful if you ever feel like selling it.

Things like CAS, cam angle sensors, gearbox shaft sensors etc. seem to fail at times on Mitsu products, and that is only going to get worse as the cars age.
