Hey guys, i recently changed my bulbs on my '01 TJ exec with one piece parabolics since one was out, after that so many problems had occured. Firstly, all my lights on my dash, radio and gear shift lever were out, I checked the fuses but they were still intact. After that a friend noticed that my tailights were out too! (but brake lights still worked). Once again I checked the fuses for the tailights and sure enough it was blown but keeps blowing even if i replace it. I cant seem to find the connection between my headlights, my tailights and my dash lights, please somebody save me! I dont want anybody overthinking, even pointing me in the direction of a good auto electrician would be fantastic! thanks everybody. :eeek:

my guess would be the front parker in the headlights .http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46010&highlight=two+piece+parabolics
Check your alternator voltage. It may be too high (regulator U/S?)

Looks like I spoke too soon guys, took my car for a drive and before I got home, bam lights out again, I'm guessing my Parker's are shorting somewhere but I wouldn't know where to start, any ideas? :(
Firstly, check all exposed wiring. Has the car been at the panel beaters lately? they may have put some wires back without adequate protection eg going thru a hole without a grommet to protect the wire. Not easy. Another way is to measure the resistance to earth on each circuit, but you have to know the individual resistance of each globe and then the resistance of ?? many globes in parallel. Also the resistance of each globe varies if it is hot or cold. Messy.
If it is a short, the only way is to isolate each system on a circuit eg front parker, rear tail lights, numberplate light etc and then progressively re-connect each system until the fuse blows again. Pain in the assss
