Hi Guys,
Just go my 380 serviced and rwc. The cruise control was working fine when I gave it to the rwc. But now the cruise control doesnt work. It shows cruise when it is turned on but when I hit the "set" button on the destinated speed it is not setting to any speed and the car just decelarates. Mechanic said he they did not even service anything electrical. He still did check some fuses and replaced my blown fuses for free. But he said he has got nothing to do unless I wanted an auto electrician to have a look.
And also my steering wheel stereo controls are also not working since I bought the car. The stereo controls works when I have the steering wheel turned about 90 degrees sometimes. What could this be?

Make sure your brake lights aren't staying on
Also if manual there is a switch or sensor or similar somewhere on clutch also that kills cruise when clutch is used

oh okay. yea the switch which shuts the cruise off when changing gears. yea mine is a manual.. break lights are not on. I will get an auto electrician to check it next week.

The same thing has just happened to me. I replaced both my rear tail-brake lights with LED's after one blew and now cruise control won't engage. As far as I can tell the brake lights are not "stuck" on.
I will remove the LED globes tomorrow and put back the one working incandescent one to see if the new globes have somehow introduced the issue.

This problem has cropped up before.
Replacing the LEDs back to standard globes should fix the non-cruise problem.
Blame canbus, it seems to monitor everything, right down to the current flowing in the brake light circuit.

The issue I had was that cruise worked for a while yesterday, then stopped working later on. I just did a test to confirm what I thought might explain that - while the headlights (and tail lights) are off, cruise works fine. But as soon as I switch them on, cruise stops working, it thinks the tail-lights are the brakes. So this is either canbus related or maybe I have one of the globes in backwards? Not sure if that's a possibility, but I am going to check the globes before I do any thing else - if it IS the canbus then I need to remove the LEDs any way. Hopefully Sprint Auto will let me exchange.
UPDATE: The globes were installed correctly, so it's definitely a CANBUS issue. Fortunately, Sprint let me return the LED's so I am back on standard globes... for now :)

I tried 2 different LED types in stop / tail. One caused park and dash lights to come on when I used brakes, other causedd cruise to dis-engage when parks on - clearly not enough isolation between circuits and canbus senses voltage in brake circuit and off goes cruise
Back to standard globes!

For starters they are BRAKES not BREAKS please for the love of all things good (real pet hate)
The cruise, if your steering wheel controls are playing up I would hinge my money on a dodgy clock spring
The engine light, the only thing you will be able to do is plug in the car and get the diagnostic codes to see what is happening there

hey guys listen!. I cleared the engine light and then my cruise stopped working again. Then i took it for a drive and once I had around 240kms on clock from 0kms after refuelling car the engine light came on and the cruise started working. I have no clue what is the issue. I have the OBD II reader and am using the Torque app on my Android. Below are the couple of screen shots i took what showed as faulty codes on the app. Give me any suggestions or clue if you know what these are.

One of the faults says clutch switch fault ... didn't someone suggest that already?

of course a clutch switch will disable cruise....

I recently had to replace the switch on our Hyundai Getz since the brake lights were not working all the time. Called Veale auto parts and they had a replacement. Pretty easy fix and I assume the clutch switch would be the same.

Yesterday had to brake suddenly and noticed today that my cruise no longer engages? After reading this post I checked my brake lights and found that they were not working, but the boot brake light was? The thing is that the boot brake light stays on for a while then fades out after parking? It also comes on and stays on when the car lights are turned on. Checked all fuses and no issues there. Is this DIY fixable?

Read the earlier posts re feedback between light and brake circuits
Repalce your stoplight/tailight globes - in failing one of the filamnents may have drooped onto the light filament, thus linking the circuits.
You may have alos somehow linked them to the cabin lights - which fade slowly off as you leave the car

Thanks telpat16 I checked the bulbs this morning all seems okay? Might go over the car and check if any other circuits are not working properly. Seems a bit odd how it has linked up with the cabin lights?
What about the brake switch, is it easy to check?
Sorry for not knowing the obvious 60 years old mate and getting into tight spots is getting harder
Cheers
PS forgot to say my car is 2007 vrx auto

I don't know about the switch - usually at top of brake pedal - know about tight spots - you're a bit younger than me :)

i hope to god my same issue im having with my cruise is not related to the LED tail lights... because i cant exactly get to the back of my tail lights easily because of the custom boot.. but will try changing my globes anyway and see if that fixes the issue.. fingers crossed it does.. cruise control will come in handy when driving to Albany for the show :)
