Hi all just down in Victoria for a wedding and when I picked up my car from over night parking battery light came on and off. Then the anti locking light then the exclamation light. Pulled into petrol station and turned engine off and now she won't start! Ideas thanks

Could be your alternator ? This sounds similar to what happened to me, however I could be wrong

Chech your battery terminals are tight.
if you're serviced by ultratune you should have free onside road assist

Could be loose battery terminals, or it could also be the factory immobiliser, not too sure about the alt as I haven't crossed paths with my very often. When you go to crank the car what happens?
If its the battery terminals you will get a simple click and no crank or very very sluggish crank.
If its the immobiliser you car will most probably crank and keep cranking but just not fire (that's in my experience anyway)
Also very very rare to happen just out of the blue but it does happen, a fuse could have a broken link, if you don't have access to a multimeter then in this case a visual inspection of the ones in the kickpanel and engine bay will reveal enough.
Either way we will need more info as to what happens and what sort of car it is.

Thanks to all who replied. Rac guy replaced battery retested and all seemed good, until 1am and I'm on my way back to nsw broke down next to Hume highway. In an hour a rather arrogant Nrma came and tested battery and said alternator isn't charging. He wiggled the Regulator and she started charging. He gave me a spiel about going back to albury sleep in car with my 3 year old son till morning then start ringing around for a auto electrician. Estimated cost $500! Or risk trying to get home.. I went home and made it ;) 5hrs drive she held together. I thank God. So should I replace or refurbish the alternator. Or simply get a new / scrap yard regulator?
I thought the regulators were part of the 3rd gen alternators?
I'd probably try and get a new one if you could. $500 is a load of rubbish! RACV only charged me under the $200 mark. I tried to pull my alternator off yesterday and I didn't get far but if you've got a mechanic, give them a ring and ask for a quote.
Sorry, the $200 was the starter motor ^_^

Looks removable
Oh it is, but a standard ratchet and 14mm socket wont fit to the back left bolt ^_^ - at least this was my case!

They are not not hard. Back the tensioner off then remove alternator.:) very basic mechanical knowledge needed.
Before you buy off ebay ring a few local auto electricians and price a new one fitted. You may be suprised.

Easy to do
Disc battery (Dah!)
Remove the top hose from the Radiator, take out the drivers fan (2 bolts up top, 2 under) [this gives enough room to get the alt out safely
Remove splash guard
Remove alt belt
Long 14mm ring spanner, loosen and remove the nut for the main through bolt
Undo the 12mm bolt for top bracket, swing alt down
Remove top bracket
Unplug alt
Carefully push dipstick tube over if needd, can also push over aircon line the oppersite direction to make room
Lift alt out, will be a tight fit
new alt is same but in reverse, suggest carefully tapping lower mount sliding sleve to make gap larger to make fitting easier, also suggest putting in through bolt either from under car if you can get under the car OR while alt is swinging down.
