Hey guys,

I am having yet another problem with my TF Magna, usually these things happen in three's so hopefully this is the last problem for a while haha.

Anyway, now there seems to be a problem with the speed alert. I hooked up a scan tool the other day to check for codes, and it was all clear. When I took it for a drive next, I noticed that the speed alert was displaying 32km/h, and when I went over 32km/h the "speed" light came on but it didn't beep.

Now for some reason, instead of going 80 - 85 - 90 - 95 - 100 - 105 etc, is now displays 52 - 57 - 62 - 67 - 72 - 77 etc..... And it will not beep when you go over the speed that is displayed (just the light comes on).

I have tried holding both the up and down arrows down for a few seconds, and it ends up displaying "--". Then I held them down again, but it still displays 102 - 107 - 112 etc.

Has this happened to anyone? Will I need to use the scan tool again to fix this problem or is there a way to do it without a scan tool?

Thanks in advance.

When your battery went flat did it reset your trip computer?
Was it flashing 'S' or 'W' maybe you set it wrong ie 3.0 not 3.5 or vise versa?

My battery never went flat, it only happened since I had the scan tool connected.

Also, it doesn't have a trip computer, in the centre where the oil light, battery light, low fuel light, etc are there is a little screen with the speed alert only.

Try disconnecting the negative from the battery for around 30s to a minute, this should clear the ECU and the speed alert system. The speed alert display is connected to the ECU I believe. Check your manual on how to reconfigure the Trip computer/speed alert computer when you reconnect the power. in the 3.5 with trip computer, you just press the display button and select 3.0 or 3.5 and S or what ever.

Yeah I have done that at work to someone elses car before, that was a 3.5 Sedan.

But mine being a 2.4 4G64 engine it wont have it. Also it doesn't have a display button, it only has an up and down arrow so you can adjust the speed alert setting higher or lower.

I will try what you said though by disconnecting the battery and see what happens.
