hi guys finally upgraded our tj awd dirt circuitmagna by means of.
kkr turbo 14lb boost
ebay bought intercooler 600mmx600mm
6 extra standard injectors in manifold
wolf 5500 ecu
large trans cooler and wave washer replaced
engine stock except ring gaps widened to stop them butting under high combustion temps has stopped the front bank failures
no dyno results tuned with sensors and laptop on track
car is competitive so far now for chassis upgrades then more bolt on,s eg throttle body and manifold
maybe cams but this has always been a budget build and so far inclusive of roll cage and purchase of car it owes us $3800

Cheap mod to improve engine reliability: a colder thermostat (stock is 87-89C, 77C can be had easily). Also, as this is I presume track only, have you deleted the EGR system?
Ok, let me get it right this time cause last time I got an infraction for simply asking for photos...

You say,
no dyno results tuned with sensors and laptop on track
Now, what software did you use and what sort of precautions did you take in fitting and tuning before taking it to the track?

i will upload photos in the next week .as i said 14lb of boost. running wolf3d software we tuned it on the track with a base map we had and changed it to suit the magna firing order. we had the track all day. started low rpm and load tuned that then moved up the rev range slowly. i used a Innovate air fuel meter and their motor knock headphones to listen for detonation

an update for the sceptics motor failure was always going to be enivadable only what would fail and when. remembering this is a budget build for the whole family to flog and 2wd drive cars can be bought fo $300 from the auctions. normally with 6 races a day and one driver. but we have had 3 drivers and 18 races a day with this thing with rev limiter set at 6000rpm. it made 6 race meets until it developeed a bottom end rattle so the sump was pulled off to reveal no 4 big end bearing had failed not bad i think of something that had done 290 000km from the donor car. pistons still looked fine across the board so in goes the new motor with 120 000km so only time will tell
Did you find out what the rattle was then? Rod bearing?
Also, pictures!
