I have had this happen to me before but since my car was running moments before i changed the battery, i dont know why it is doing this.
The battery i had was at 12.74v and i changed it to a bigger but older battery at 12.45v
the older battery i had filled with battery rejuvinator. Stuff to counteract sulfation.
What does my car do now that i changed batteries (i changed back and still get the same result)?
* Temp. guage hits its upper limit
* No door lights on the doors
* No dash door light
* No heating/air conditioning
* No radio
* No interior light
* Cruise light on
* Pushing cruise makes something buzz in the engine bay
* No electric windows
* Fuel pump always on
* Wont crank
Roll starting usually fixes this. I dont know.
I had the gearbox earth on the engine for a fair while.
Have you checked the engine bay fuse box and the one in the cabin? May have blown some fuses and/or fusable links. Did you at any time have the +ve touching the -ve etc. Also, was everything off before you disconnected/connected the batteries?

all i did was undo the terminals, replace the terminals then replace the battery. i didnt cross wires.
Addidional: removing 2 plugs under the dash allows cranking but with no ignition
wipers only work on full. Ive had the wipers go automatically last time this happened when my battery boiled
Did the TR Elites have ETACS? If so, it may have been damaged. It is the one that controls most of those above that you mentioned are acting up. Still should check both fuse compartments. Mal can answer whether the TR Elite has ETACS. I know that my old KS Verada Xi has.

I think i found part of the problem. I had put the battery back in with reverse polarity

In that case check all fuses and etacs.

okay. Ive gotten somewhere. I did a quick google search and i think my voltage regulator died. My battery also wont charge. I can fix that. At least i can drive at the moment, even if i have to treat it like a hybrid, charging the battery every night and trying not to stop anywhere but at home lol.
I think my ETACS is dead for sure. I dont get central locking at all. I do get cig. lighter power though. Either way. I can get parts from executive magnas easy but i dont think they even have the equivalent to ETACS without luxury features.
Im gonna have to search the wreckers in geelong one day. Our local wreckers are very under-stocked.
